Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood Gear Up for the CMAs
Parade.com Celebrity recently caught up with Paisley, 40, and Underwood, 30, who return to co-host the 2012 CMA Awards (Nov. 1, ABC) for a fifth time.
WALTER SCOTT asks the questions:
Brad, how do you think you two have evolved as hosts?
We were scared to death the first year, but we really have a good thing going now. Carrie’s got this graceful, beautiful, funny persona, and I’m sort of everything else!

How many outfit changes are you planning this year, Carrie?
As many as I have time for! I’ve tried on a million dresses. Luckily, Brad lets me have the bigger dressing room.
Brad, you’re celebrating a big birthday today. How do you feel about turning 40?
I feel pretty good about it! I remember when my dad turned 40 and thinking what an old fart he was, and here I am. But it’s a different day and age.

Carrie, what do you think about Keith Urban as a judge on American Idol?
I think it’s about time! There have been so many country artists to come from the show, so why not get a country-loving judge in the mix? He’ll do a great job.
Online Extra: What gift does Brad send Carrie every year before the CMAs?
"Every year, I send flowers to Carrie with a card that says, 'Good luck — Don’t mess this up!' It's part of the ritual."
